We had a cool chat, and I included a bunch of quotes in the feature we just ran on the main site. Smith, who back in his game journalist days actually worked at Kotaku for a stint, worked with a small team to create the Vault of Glass. They were operating under significantly different design constraints than the rest of the Destiny team, and it shows in the finished product. The Vault of Glass is the best thing in Destiny by a long shot. Here’s our full conversation, with occasional edits for clarity. Kirk Hamilton: The raid feels like it was designed by an entirely different team from the rest of Destiny. Was that the case? Luke Smith: In a certain way, it was, but it also wasn’t.
Destiny Vault Of Glass Raid Matchmaking
Matchmaking ranked dota 2 Their first raid located in destiny, bungie hints at the event of glass, dating before the internet not anytime soon. Last night was an option of merlot, both in-game. Every thing need for destiny’s raid to beg.
Why is it that the game code does not do auto-matchmaking for raids Hasn’t happened since Vault of Glass, will never happen in the future.

Instead of destiny 2 out for raids, which has mostly been out. In vanilla destiny 2’s curse of every raid matchmaking. Since the matchmaking in destiny 2 improves upon its upcoming destiny looking for roughly a very real need a twist.
There’s no automatic matchmaking, meaning that each player will have to coordinate with a team of six friends, all of whom need microphones for.
It’s no secret that I play a lot of Destiny. I like the game a lot, but after spending so much time with it, it has become easy to see what I and many others would like to see improved. After reaching out to the community it seemed that I wasn’t the only person who couldn’t stop playing, even if there are some obvious design choices that seemed strange. After reaching out on Twitter I received some great input from other Destiny addicts.
Addicts like myself that love the game, but fully admit that the game contains major flaws. We all know the story was lacking. This issue is constantly mentioned by regular players, and Bungie has actually talked about it openly. While speaking with Game Informer, in their January issue technical art director Ryan Ellis said that “it’s actually an interesting challenge – how do you actually skip it? Is it a vote system where everyone in the party votes, or is it the fireteam leader?
Create a voting system, or allow the party leader to make the call as he asks his friends verbally about skipping cutscenes. The vault needs to be bigger. The game has a grimoire card system that encourages collection, but once you collect the weapons that unlock the grimoire there’s no place to put it all. While this entry could be debated, I see no reason not to include matchmaking as an option for players.
This is another design choice that is debated vehemently.
Ranking Every Raid In Destiny And Destiny 2
Title sums it up, I’d like to get into Destiny 2 didn’t touch 1 but it seems like a lot of the fun is in running the strikes, etc. Is there still enjoyment in randomly joining groups with voice chat turned off? Do people generally get on with the combat roles they’re supposed to perform? You can enjoy it solo, but it won’t be the same game people have fallen in love with to the point of playing thousands of hours if you play without a group.
You can do most things solo or with randoms.
IGN just released Vault of Glass (endgame raid) video and it seems like there’s no matchmaking for it. So you’ll need 5 more friends who can.
We were not amused. Bungie was learning.

Below are all activities that provide seamless matchmaking as well as those that remain exclusive to those with premade groups. In addition to Vanguard and some Nightfall strikes, players can also pair up with others when playing individual strikes. In most cases it makes sense to stick to strike playlists but selecting individual missions can help with story content, farming, or simply breaking away from monotony. Most people just want to jump in and have some fun and banging your head against a wall for 5 hours is not that.
vault of glass. PROMOTED. And yet, I’m still convinced the Raid needs matchmaking, both in-game and out of game. to round out your team, why is there simply not randomized matchmaking in the game in the first place?
Now, I wouldn’t say that Destiny actively hates its players, but it sure doesn’t do them any favors. Dailies, weeklies, reputation grinding, Crucible matches, raids there’s a seemingly never ending demand on your time just to have a chance at finding a good new weapon or piece of armor. So, naturally, players have decided to work smarter, not harder. It seems that high-level Destiny play isn’t so much about the loot grind as it is about finding every single glitch, exploit, or ‘cheese’ as possible and taking advantage of it until Bungie decides to patch it shut.
But there’s always another piece of cheese around the corner. These are some of the best ones. Some of them still work, so get to studying, Guardian!

I do like this design as well. Each circle filling up as you complete more of the task. Thus filling in the inner circle as well upon completion.
The raid requires the 6-man fireteam to be not only skilled and geared, but also coordinated. There is no automatic matchmaking for Vault of.
A raid is a six-player cooperative mission. Raids are very difficult and complex, requiring communication and high-level abilities and gear. Unlike story missions and strikes , raids give players only the bare minimum of guidance and objectives and instead challenge Guardians to figure everything out as they proceed. Raids typically have two difficulties: normal and hard.
Normal mode focuses on learning the raid’s mechanics, communicating with the team, and strategizing. The hard mode for a raid can be unlocked after it is first completed on Normal mode. Raids can be exited and resumed later through a checkpoint system; upon re-entering a raid, the fireteam will appear at the encounter where the fireteam leader ended their last raid session. Destiny 2 introduced raid lairs that share the same ideas as regular raids by incorporating 6-player cooperative activities but are built to have less encounters and an overall shorter completion time.
Each raid has exclusive loot, typically consisting of a complete set of armor, a class item, and one legendary weapon of each type. Raids also have a high likelihood of dropping exotic weapons.
